Original Zoo Magazine, Issue No. 78, dated 5-11 August 2005, with a major model-focused cover and an extensive feature devoted to Britain’s 10 Sexiest Models, as voted for by Zoo readers.

The front cover is dominated by two blonde models alongside the large headline “Britain’s 10 Hottest Models – Chosen By You, Disrobed By Zoo”. The issue therefore has particularly strong appeal for collectors of early Zoo glamour/model issues.

The supplied interior photographs confirm that the main feature is titled “Britain’s 10 Sexiest Models – As Chosen By You!”, beginning on page 32. Several of the ranked models can be clearly identified in the photographed opening spread:

  • Jakki Degg – No. 10
  • Melanie Boorman – No. 9
  • Corina Weston – No. 8
  • Lucy Becker – No. 7

The feature continues beyond the photographed pages with the remaining ranked models, making this one of the more model-heavy Zoo issues from the period.

Another substantial glamour feature advertised on both the front cover and contents page is a six-page nurses special, beginning on page 48. The front cover promotes this with a sequence of model photographs alongside the headline “Real Nurses Strip”.

The issue also advertises a Zoo Fox Hunt feature beginning on page 82, again accompanied by model photography.

Beyond the glamour/model content, the issue includes a broad mixture of sport, television, motoring and entertainment features. The contents page confirms:

  • Britain’s Top 10 Models – page 32
  • Nurses Special – page 48
  • Zoo Fox Hunt – page 82
  • Unseen Office – page 24
  • 16-page 2005/06 football season preview with Andy Gray – page 54
  • Greatest Ever Track & Field Star – page 70
  • Tim Lovejoy – page 73
  • Gordon Strachan – page 74
  • 217mph Brabus motoring feature – page 78
  • Channel 4’s Lost
  • TV guide
  • Movies and DVDs
  • Music and games
  • Regular Zoo humour and weekly features

The top of the front cover also promotes a substantial football feature asking whether Gordon Strachan will succeed at Celtic, together with the season preview involving Andy Gray.

The main attraction from a collector perspective, however, is clearly the Britain’s 10 Sexiest Models countdown, with multiple named British glamour models and a dedicated multi-page feature.

Condition

Condition has been assessed from all four supplied photographs, including the front cover, contents page, model feature and rear/exterior view.

This is a used copy showing noticeable handling and storage wear, particularly around the spine and corners.

The front cover remains colourful and highly presentable overall, with the large Zoo masthead, model photography and main headlines all clear and readable.

There is visible spine wear, including rubbing, whitening and repeated small stress creases where the magazine has been opened and handled. The lower spine area shows more pronounced wear.

The bottom-left/spine corner is visibly rubbed and slightly frayed, with some whitening and minor crushing at the extreme corner.

The top-left corner also shows light wear and curling, while there is minor rubbing around the other outer corners and edges.

There are some light handling creases, surface marks and scuffs across the front cover, but no major tear through the main cover image is apparent.

The interior contents page shown remains bright, clean and readable, with no obvious major tears or staining.

The photographed Britain’s 10 Sexiest Models spread appears intact and strongly printed. There is normal curvature through the centre fold from the magazine being opened, together with some light page-edge wear.

The rear/exterior photograph shows additional spine-edge rubbing and slight corner wear, but the magazine appears to remain securely bound in the areas shown.

No obvious handwriting or major staining can be seen in the supplied photographs.

Overall, this is a presentable used 2005 Zoo issue with moderate spine, edge and corner wear, while the important model feature and photographed interior pages remain clean and readable.
