Original UK Zoo Magazine, Issue 52, dated 4–10 February 2005, with Jordan / Katie Price as the main cover feature.
This issue is a strong early Zoo-era example, combining glamour photography with celebrity interviews, football, rugby, cars, television, humour and general men’s lifestyle content.
Jordan / Katie Price Feature
The major feature is a substantial Jordan photo shoot and interview. The contents page lists her at page 44, and the photographed spread shows a large double-page feature headed:
“Jordan: ‘I’ve still got the sexiest boobs in Britain!’”
The feature is presented as an exclusive new photo shoot, with full-page and double-page glamour photography and accompanying editorial/interview text.
For collectors of mid-2000s British glamour magazines, this is one of the strongest reasons to own the issue, as Jordan dominates both the front cover and one of the main internal features.
Other Glamour Features
The front cover and contents also advertise a number of other models and features, including:
- Lisa Snowdon
- Lucy & Michelle
- Leilani
- Kirsty
- A themed “girls in the shower” feature
- Regular Zoo glamour photography and model pages
The issue therefore has a particularly strong glamour focus compared with many general weekly issues.
Other Magazine Content
The photographed contents page shows a broad selection of additional features, including:
- Vic Reeves
- Ronaldinho
- Six Nations rugby
- Super Bowl coverage
- Arsenal vs Manchester United car comparison
- Extreme sports
- Motoring features
- Film and television reviews
- Music and games coverage
- Weekly jokes and letters
There is also coverage of Ocean’s Twelve, as well as contemporary early-2005 entertainment and sports stories.
Sports Content
Sports collectors may also find this issue appealing due to the period football and rugby content.
Visible features include:
- Ronaldinho
- Six Nations coverage
- Super Bowl coverage
- Arsenal and Manchester United references
- Football-related humour and features
This gives the magazine a strong snapshot of British men’s weekly culture from early 2005.
Condition
Pre-owned magazine with visible age-related and handling wear.
From the supplied photographs:
- Front cover remains bright with strong colours.
- There is visible edge wear and corner wear, particularly around the spine and lower edges.
- Some surface rubbing and light marking are present.
- Minor creasing and waviness can be seen on the front cover and pages.
- Spine shows expected wear from age and reading.
- Interior pages shown appear intact and generally clean.
- Some page edges show light age toning.
- Rear cover shows visible wear and rubbing.
- Corners are softened rather than perfectly sharp.
