Pre-owned / used magazine.

Please study all supplied photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.

This copy shows visible but generally moderate signs of previous reading, handling and storage. The front cover remains bright and strongly coloured, with the main artwork and text clearly legible. There is some surface rubbing, light marking/scuffing and general handling wear, particularly around the outer edges.

The spine and corners show wear consistent with age and use, including light rubbing and small creases. The right-hand outer edge of the front cover also shows some minor handling wear rather than being perfectly sharp and flat.

The internal pages photographed remain clean, colourful and clearly readable overall. There is normal page handling, slight curvature/waviness and some light creasing in places, particularly around the edges and centre fold of opened spreads. The photographed pages appear securely held within the magazine.

The rear cover remains attached and presentable, although there is some light edge/corner wear and normal surface marking from storage.

No obvious major tears or large missing sections can be established from the supplied photographs, but this is a used 2009 magazine and is not being represented as mint, pristine or unread.

Description

Original ZOO Magazine – Issue 286, from late August / early September 2009.

The front cover is dated 28 August–3 September 2009. The photographed internal masthead/contents page reads 27 August–3 September 2009, Issue 286, so both printed date references are noted here for accuracy.

This is the magazine's prominent “Blondes Issue”, built around a large selection of glamour/model features and heavily focused on female personalities associated with ZOO during the late 2000s.

The principal models clearly named and pictured on the front cover include:

  • Sam Cooke
  • Amy Green
  • Holly Willoughby
  • Gemma Merna
  • Charlotte Jackson

Of these, Sam Cooke occupies the largest single front-cover photograph and is therefore one of the most visually prominent names associated with the issue.

Amy Green Feature

The supplied photographs show a substantial interior feature devoted to Amy Green.

A full-colour spread carries the headline “Why Blonde Is Best!” and identifies Amy Green as a 21-year-old from Sheffield. The article forms part of the magazine's wider celebration of blonde models and combines a large photographic feature with short interview-style text.

Amy is also featured prominently elsewhere in the issue's contents material, where the magazine promotes the blonde-themed section.

Sam Cooke

Sam Cooke receives major front-cover billing and occupies the dominant upper-right cover image.

Her inclusion is central to the overall blonde-themed presentation of this issue and makes this a particularly relevant copy for collectors following her magazine appearances.

Holly Willoughby

Holly Willoughby is clearly named and pictured in one of the front-cover inset photographs.

Her appearance forms part of the magazine's wider selection of recognisable blonde personalities used to promote the issue.

Gemma Merna

Gemma Merna is also clearly named on the front cover and pictured within the group of featured women.

Charlotte Jackson

Charlotte Jackson is another clearly identified model/TV personality on the cover, shown in a separate inset photograph.

The Blondes Issue

The photographed contents page confirms that this edition includes a substantial themed feature described as a celebration of blonde women.

The internal photographs show the feature extending across multiple pages rather than simply being a single-page cover story. Amy Green receives a particularly prominent full-page treatment, while other women are incorporated into the larger themed section.

This makes Issue 286 a strong example of ZOO's late-2000s themed glamour issues, with multiple named models rather than a magazine centred around only one cover personality.

Other Magazine Content

Although the listing title has been kept focused on models only, the supplied pages show that this issue also contains ZOO's usual mixture of sport, entertainment, games, news and humour.

Visible material includes coverage relating to:

  • Britain's Hottest Beach 2009
  • Tinchy Stryder
  • Andrey Arshavin
  • Wayne Rooney
  • Danny Dyer
  • European gaming coverage
  • PlayStation 3
  • Bugatti Veyron
  • Celebrity/news material
  • Football
  • Gadgets and regular ZOO columns

The contents give a good snapshot of British men's-magazine culture in 2009, combining glamour/model photography with football, celebrity entertainment, technology, motoring and gaming.

Postage & Packaging

The magazine will be carefully packed for dispatch to help protect it while in transit.

Depending on the final packed size and weight, it will be protected using sturdy cardboard packaging and/or suitable bubble wrap, with additional support where appropriate. Particular care will be taken to reduce the risk of bending, crushing, corner knocks, edge damage and movement inside the parcel.

Older magazines are especially vulnerable around the spine, corners and projecting page edges, so suitable reinforcement will be used where required.

Please remember that this is an original 2009 pre-owned magazine, so buyers seeking a completely flawless or newsstand-mint example should study all supplied photographs carefully before purchasing.
