Vintage Mayfair Magazine – Volume 17 Number 3 – March 1982, a classic British men’s magazine from the early 1980s.
This issue has a distinctive white and pink cover design and is headed “Exclusive Colour – The Girl Who Went Topless At Twickers”. The cover model is posed in a bright pink outfit with black stockings and red heels.
The contents page gives a particularly useful breakdown of the models and features included in this issue. Model-focused content includes:
- Erica Roe – feature connected with the famous Twickenham streaker story.
- Jane – trainee teacher feature.
- Penelope – glamour feature.
- Pauline – Bournemouth-based pictorial.
- Julie – another model feature.
- Sally – featured pictorial.
The contents also show a wide mixture of the magazine’s usual early-1980s material, including humour, motoring and lifestyle pieces. Other features include a history of the American riverboat, a feature on mixing a dry Martini, mud wrestling, a Mercedes SL motoring feature and regular reader-service/review sections.
This is a good example of an original early-1980s Mayfair issue, with the period typography, photography, editorial layout and advertising that make these magazines collectible today.
