Original Maxim Magazine, May 1997, Issue 25, featuring Salma Hayek as the main cover star. This is an early UK-era issue of Maxim with a striking red cover and a large full-length portrait of Hayek dominating the design.

The interior contents page clearly identifies Salma Hayek as the month’s cover star, with her main feature listed under “Fantasy” on page 20. The cover itself uses the large headline “Sex-Mex!” alongside her name, typical of Maxim’s bold 1990s editorial style.

Condition

Condition has been assessed from all four supplied photographs, including the front cover, interior contents pages and exterior/spine view.

This is a used vintage magazine with noticeable age, handling and storage wear.

The front cover shows rubbing, scuffing and surface scratches, particularly across the darker red and black printed areas. There are numerous fine handling marks visible when viewed under the light.

There is visible edge wear around the cover, including whitening and small areas of print loss. The top edge has several small nicks/chips, particularly around the upper-right area, and there is additional rubbing around the upper-left corner.

The left/spine edge shows repeated small stress marks and rubbing, with minor whitening where the cover has flexed through use.

The bottom edge is visibly worn, with rubbing, slight creasing and small areas of whitening. The bottom-left corner shows noticeable wear and slight curling, while the bottom-right corner also displays minor edge and corner wear.

There are light creases and handling bends across the front cover, although no large full-cover fold is visible.

The side/rear photograph shows further rubbing around the spine ends and corners, with the lower spine/back corner particularly showing whitening and wear. The magazine appears to retain its overall shape and the spine remains together in the photographed view.

The interior pages shown appear generally clean, intact and readable, with strong printing and no obvious major tears visible in the photographed sections. There is normal page curvature from the magazine being opened for the photographs and some light age/handling wear at the page edges.

No obvious handwritten notes are visible in the supplied photographs.

Overall, this is a presentable but clearly used 1997 copy, with the main condition issues being cover scuffing, scratches, edge wear, corner wear, spine rubbing and small nicks/chips around the outer edges.
