Loaded Magazine May 1998 Ulrika Jonsson Hunter S Thompson Donna Air SKU 1533

Original Loaded Magazine – May 1998, featuring Ulrika Jonsson as the main cover star.

This is a strong late-1990s issue of Loaded with the magazine’s characteristic mix of celebrity features, music, motorsport, travel, fashion, humour and lifestyle content. The striking green-and-black front cover features Ulrika Jonsson in a white coat, with the main headline “ULRIKA – Turned On, Tuned In, Chained Up.”

The photographed contents pages confirm a particularly varied line-up including Ulrika Jonsson, Hunter S. Thompson, Donna Air, Eddie Irvine, Bez, John Barry & Orbital, plus a Page & Plant feature and additional travel and lifestyle material.

The contents photography also shows Hunter S. Thompson, Eddie Irvine, Ulrika Jonsson, Bez and other featured personalities, giving this issue plenty of period interest for collectors of 1990s British popular culture.

ULRIKA JONSSON

Ulrika Jonsson is the principal cover star and one of the main features in this issue. She is prominently photographed on the front cover and appears again within the contents section.

HUNTER S. THOMPSON

A particularly collectible element is the Hunter S. Thompson feature, clearly listed in the contents and illustrated with a large photograph of the writer.

This gives the issue additional appeal beyond the usual Loaded readership, particularly for fans and collectors of Thompson and Gonzo-era journalism.

DONNA AIR FOLD-OUT / POSTER SECTION

A large fold-out Donna Air section is clearly present in the magazine.

The photographed fold-out opens across multiple panels and features a full-length image of Donna Air against a pink background, with “loaded donna air” printed along the side. The multi-panel format creates a much larger image than a standard magazine page and is an especially attractive surviving feature for collectors.

The images also show another multi-panel Pac-Man themed fold-out spread, featuring the classic yellow Pac-Man character alongside the coloured ghosts on a black background.

Both of these fold-out sections appear to remain attached/present in the photographed copy.
