Loaded Magazine June 1998 Raquel Welch Peter Reid Status Quo Golden Jubilee SKU 1533

Original Loaded Magazine – June 1998, a distinctive Golden Jubilee / 50th celebration issue with a black front cover dominated by a large gold “50” design.

The cover describes this as the “Golden Jubilee Knees-Up Edition”, celebrating the magazine’s milestone with a mixture of celebrity interviews, entertainment, comedy, music, film, fashion and Loaded’s characteristic late-1990s editorial style.

This issue is particularly notable for its substantial Raquel Welch content, alongside features involving Peter Reid, Status Quo, Warren Clarke, Ronnie Knight, Emma Steadman and others.

FEATURED CONTENT

The photographed contents pages show a wide range of material including:

• Raquel Welch – major feature beginning around page 143
• Peter Reid – football-related feature
• Status Quo
• Warren Clarke
• Emma Steadman
• Ronnie Knight
• South Park
• Don Simpson
• Alien / UFO themed feature
• Women in Pants
• Making a Record
• Fashion section
• Music, film, video, games and book coverage
• Loaded’s regular humour, lifestyle and entertainment material

The contents artwork itself is very distinctive, using a celebratory party theme with balloons, monkeys, cake and other intentionally surreal Loaded-style imagery.

RAQUEL WELCH FEATURE

One of the most visually notable parts of this issue is the Raquel Welch feature.

The supplied photographs clearly show an extended glamour/fashion spread featuring Raquel Welch in a full-length studio image wearing a coordinated outfit and heels against a clean, minimalist background. Her name is printed prominently alongside the feature.

This is a particularly attractive inclusion for collectors of Raquel Welch memorabilia, late-1990s celebrity magazines and vintage Loaded issues.

GOLDEN JUBILEE ISSUE

The front cover is unusually minimalist for Loaded, with the magazine name rendered in illuminated-style lettering and a huge gold “50” dominating the design.

Cover text references the magazine’s celebratory content including:

• Peter Reid
• Hollywood features
• Alien-themed content
• Raquel Welch
• Loaded party / lock-in material
• Music, videos, games and books

This gives the issue a distinctive appearance compared with standard Loaded covers of the period.
