Classic Rock Presents Prog Magazine – May 2010 – Issue 15 – Emerson, Lake & Palmer Special

Original UK progressive rock magazine featuring Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP), with an additional illustrated magazine cover and a Prognosis 8 promotional CD sleeve.

A collectable May 2010 edition of Classic Rock Presents Prog, published by Future Publishing, celebrating the legendary progressive rock supergroup Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

This issue features an ELP reunion special, with exclusive interviews and coverage of the band's history, musical achievements and reunion plans.

The photographs show the main magazine, an additional ELP-themed outer cover and a Prognosis 8 promotional CD sleeve.

Main Cover – Emerson, Lake & Palmer

The main outer cover features an atmospheric black, grey and metallic design inspired by Emerson, Lake & Palmer's distinctive visual identity.

The artwork incorporates a stone-like architectural background, a central circular opening and the band's iconic ELP monogram positioned towards the bottom.

The design has a deliberately weathered, industrial appearance, with large black PROG lettering dominating the upper half.

The central circular opening reveals the pale background beneath, creating an unusual layered visual effect.

Prominent cover headlines include:

  • "ELP Reunions Special – All New Interviews!"

  • "Exclusive – The Reunion, The Interviews, The Works!"

  • A quotation attributed to Greg Lake about the band's creative disagreements.

The cover also advertises a free CD and features a purple circular panel highlighting additional progressive rock artists.

Additional Illustrated Cover

The photographs also show a separate illustrated Classic Rock Presents Prog cover with a striking blue-toned portrait.

The artwork depicts a serene, closed-eyed female face surrounded by elaborate, flowing, biomechanical-looking forms.

The detailed design uses shades of blue, grey and silver, giving the illustration an atmospheric science-fiction and fantasy appearance.

The Classic Rock Presents Prog masthead appears across the top in large cream lettering.

A quotation attributed to Keith Emerson is printed near the lower-right corner.

This illustrated cover provides a visually contrasting companion to the darker ELP-themed outer cover.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer – Main Feature

The principal feature celebrates Emerson, Lake & Palmer, one of the most influential progressive rock bands of the 1970s.

Formed by Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer, the group became internationally recognised for combining rock music with classical influences, complex instrumental arrangements and elaborate live performances.

The magazine promotes an exclusive reunion special featuring new interviews with the musicians.

The cover highlights the group's reunion and their musical legacy, making this issue particularly interesting for collectors of ELP memorabilia.

Their best-known recordings include Tarkus, Trilogy, Brain Salad Surgery, Pictures at an Exhibition and Works Volume 1.

The ELP-themed cover artwork and reunion focus make this an appealing period publication for fans of the band.
